Vitamin B5 | Pantothenic Acid
Function: B5 are found in all cells as a constituent of the important co-enzyme A (CoA), which catalyzes the combustion of all energy giving nutrients. The synthesis of fatty acids, cholesterol, hormones in the adrenal cortex, and acetylcholine is dependent on CoA. Lowers blood cholesterol and improves the liver's detoxifying effect, äribland liver's ability to break down the medicine residue.
Consequences of failure and therapeutic use: Irritability, anxiety, convulsions, lack of coordination of the muscles. Tiredness, fatigue and reduced tolerance to sugar. Hard of function of the adrenal glands. Hypoglycemia and low blood pressure. Joint diseases, including arthritis.
Recommended daily dose: 10 mg.
Therapeutic dosage: 100-200 mg.
Mega-Doses: 1000 mg.
Symptoms of overdose: At very high dosages of pain tolerance can be reduced.
