Cupping is a way to stimulate the skin with a vacuum and thus affect the internal functions.
There are different types of cupping, both in theory and practice. A form of cupping has long been a part of the Nordic folk medicine. Then "was" a vein, a cup horn was placed over the vein and blood was sucked out. No cup was used including of back pain and swollen legs; at heart disease were treated left ring finger and the pain in his right armpit cup were left thumb. Put the evil in the area of the navel, cup was big toes.
Another form of cupping is used in traditional Chinese medicine to stimulate akupukturpunkter. Some foliole or cotton dipped in alcohol is burned for a while inside a cup of bamboo or glass. The cup is then quickly on the skin, usually on the back. By burning formed a vacuum in the cup, and the skin "sucked" up. For those who are receiving treatment feels like a colony of red ants made their homes in a concentrated space. There are different variations of vakupunktur, ie. vacuum treatment of
acupuncture points. (See also
