Occurrence: Lithium, the lightest of all metals, present in very small amounts in many minerals. It is noteworthy that plants belonging to families Ranunculaceac and Solanaceac enriched lithium. Lithium significance is not known yet.

Toxicology: Lithium is used nowadays in therapy and prophylaxis of manic-depressive illness. In doing so incurred the following side effects: gastrointestinal disturbances, muscle weakness, thirst, tremor. At long use can goiter be a consequence. The homeopathic drug trial (C Hering) is very incomplete, and in homeopathy used Lithium is almost exclusively at giktisk-rheumatic disorders.

Indications: Rheumatoid symptoms throughout the body at urinsyrediates, kidney stones and cystitis. Smarting in the urethra, turbid, slimy urine with red sediment. Urinary urgency that disrupt sleep.

Potency: D6 in triturations or tablets. Some homeopaths prefer LITHIUM BENZOICUM.

Comparison: Berberis, Ledum. Colchicum, Antimonium crudum, Lycopodium, Sulfur.
